Is there any way of getting details of mother & father without buying a copy of the birth certificate?

Hi Neil,,,,,,, Yes sometimes ,depending on years and what you already know...actual dates of events such as birth.marriages or deaths then No you need to certificates,,,also what surnames you are dealing with.

Not usually, but if you find a postem beside the reference on freeBMD it means somebody has probably added details.

Yes, I was just going to say that more recent ones might have MMN in the index. I forgot that in my last post. It is getting too late for me, yawning, not thinking straight. Off to bed soon.
