I know many of you will be abit throng this morning, and have other things on your mind, but has anyone got one of these. If so, what are the merits over the normal barbeque.
Will be on and off all day as it is my M*******sons day, this morning, but will keep looking in.
Many Thanks

I bought one a few years ago. looks lovely sitting in the garden lol.
I only used it for heat a few times, never tried cooking on it. Bear in mind it is low down so not so easy to get into.

I think you have to watch what you burn in it. I noticed mine has a split in it.
You also have to wipe them down with an oily rag to protect them from rusting...I didnt and mine did lol.

Hi Marion.

Yes....Good idea to put in some sand to absorb a little of the heat.

Great for home made Pizza too...:>))

Very popular item in our hardware stores, and outdoor living centres, as they are versatile. ( B.B.Q.... plus cooker..plus Heater ) all in the one unit.

I won't throw away the sand from my grankids sand pit then, I'll keep it just incase I get the cobwebs off the chimnea :))

We only had two BBQ last year due to the weather being so bad and having other things on.

Many thanks to you all for responding to my thread.
I was in the garden centre yesterday, and noticed they had a special offer on Chimineas, and although they were more than helpful, I just wanted to see any personel experiences of them.
They have two types. The ones that are just suitable for heating, and priced around £59.99, give or take. They also have the cooking variety, made of cast iron, which are £99.99, reduced from £169.99. Having BBQ'd for years, I thought as spring has sprung, I would 'up-date' myself, and buy one. The man doing the explaining did mention using sand, but they also sold all the bumph to go with them. I will look at Tony's suggestion, but I will leave this on for a while, in case the information given by all you lovely people, is of some interest to others.
Again, many thanks
