TLIR, do consider framing them separately and hanging them in a line top to bottom -- you can just hang them one under the other, or you can connect them with black velvet ribbon or some such.

You'll have a lot more choice of frames that way and you really can pick up very attractive small frames, all different styles -- different woods, silver effect, carved effect -- very cheap. And set them off with individual stock mattes, if you put them in frames a little bigger than the prints. The multi-picture frames don't offer a lot of choice in style.

A series of pictures hung like that would make a much more striking effect than a single frame with them all in.

B & Q online have beech effect frames (H)54cm x (W)24cm for £5.98, including fixings, which look good to me. I don't know what size your photos are though.

You can also buy acid-free paper at any stationers and cut it to fit the frame, place over the back of the mountboard and photos and then put the hardboard backing on. If you live in Sussex, I'll do it for you!!!

JustGinnie - thanks for that info - I'll have a look because would expect that either of them could be hung either way.
Suzian - they are scanned images rather than originals so not to worried about framing them as originals safely stored away

Buy a reasonably priced frame that you like. Take it along to a framers and ask them to cut a piece of mountboard (which you choose) to fit the frame and tell them how you would like the apertures cut for the photos (take those too). If they say they will do it all for you, say no, you just want the apertures cut and you can do the rest (easy peasy, ask me if you want). You may want a hardboard backing cut too and easy to pull back staples put in (which will take them 5 minutes to do). Hope this helps.

I've also got photos of my daughter and myself, my mum and me, my mum and my grandmother, my grandmother and her mum. All taken when in "mum and baby" mode.

I've had them framed individually in oval frames, and have them hung in the hallway.

Whatever - make sure that the older photos are professionaly framed in acid-free mounts, or you'll eventually lose them

I've got photos of my daughter, self, my mother, grandmother and great grandmother which I'd like to display in a picture frame showing all the matriarchal line.
I've got in mind a five aperture frame but want the pictures to be one below the other in a straight line. Have searched the net but can't find one that goes in straight line. Anyone got any ideas please? Not too expensive as want to do at least 3 sets
