I usually use Firefox as a browser and I find the GenesReunited site absolutely infurating.

BTW, I used to work in I.T., so I have at least a passing knowledge of what I am talking about.

I do not believe that the Genes Reunited site is coded to Open Standards, since it behaves differently according to whch browser you use. Their helpdesk also openly admits that they "only support Internet Explorer", which for a paying site is an absolute disgrace - shame on you!

My main gripes are that when using Firefox when I select a menu option or a search the active window remains unchanged and the operation is performed on some other random non-active window in the browser which is also pointed at the Genes Reunited site. For instance, I have 3 tabs open, page 1 of which is looking at a person on my tree, and page 2 is looking at the same person in someone else's tree, and the 3rd is on a census search page. I hit Enter on the search page. Nothing happens... but no. wait, there is a refresh happening on page 1 and it is now displaying my search results! Great, except that now if I want to go back to the person on my own tree I have to search for them all over again.

Another big gripe is the drop-downs which stay dropped-down even when you are trying to see something underneath them. Noddy, Noddy, Noddy.

PS - before any clever persons get started, my software is 100% up to date and I have not had any problems elsewhere with "uncleared browser history".
