mine are free range totally from a friend Ive even go and get some out the coupe of a morning,, they are happy chooks allowed to be free,given al sorts to eat...and only a family of 30ish,,


,,yokes are the only bit I eat and a soft boiled one ,,cant stand omi-lets.or rambled ones or cold hard boiled,,,,,,,oh no.......!

When we lived on a farm,my Mum was aware that the the Byremen was stealing eggs. So she swapped the eggs he had pinched for cheenie ones.
He had the cheek to ask if she knew anything about it ...my Mum would never have done such a thing... lol
The farmer knew they were going missing so Mum put them wise to it.

It made him stop though.

Actually Uzzi, now I think about it, I can eat a boiled egg on salad, but not ALL the white. Me dad is the same. He can't stand egg whites.
When I was a child, we lived on a Scottish Isle. He never ate the whites, but a daughter of a friend loved them. So they swopped. He had the yoke, and she had the white.

Julia same here I only eat the yolk unless scrambled or omelette, even then it is rare for me to eat eggs. I only touch boiled eggs if they are hard and shelled so I can see them and put in a salad lol (goes back to boarding school)

Julia, I only ate the yolk when i was little lol but now I like the white too ... but it does have to be well salted :)

Rose, going to a food and gift fair on Monday. I'll see if any of the farmers boast double yolked eggs. If so, I'll definitely buy some.

Have to say I can't remember a double yolker for ages, often got them when we kept chickens.
Not long ago I bought some eggs and they were very very yellow, the scrambled eggs I did looked like they had been painted lol.

Don't buy happy eggs here, I don't think I have even really seen any. Mind we don't eat eggs often either.

a few years ago i used to get a tray of eggs every week
from a friend who worked in a egg factory
every egg was a double yolk er
but as we only used a tray every other week
i used to sell a tray now and again to my auntie and uncle

but before doing so we used to boil a couple
and put them back on the tray

never once did they ever say to us
some of the eggs are hard boiled
we used to really giggle every time we seen them

I'll have mine fried, sunny side up with hash browns and an English muffin......lol

I've yet to have a double yolker from my chickens...but I'm happy enough with the 4-5 fresh free range eggs they kindly provide everyday xx

Rose, havn't bought the 'happy eggs' for a while,because I get mine normally from the farm shop. But, yes, I very often get 'double yokers'

Rose, I always buy free range eggs here BUT they are never really fresh!! I don't think they have the 'turnover' here to restock often enough.

The price runs between £2.60 and £3.30 for 6.

The nearest private seller is really too far to make it economical to drive there.

Oh I do miss my own chickens!

I bought a box last week, free range 'happy eggs' and the three eaten so far have all been double yolked...not seen that since we kept chickens when i was a child :))
