I really don't know what will happen next ...... I presume some chemo and/or radiation. But I don't know anyone who has had that kind of cancer

I've just googled ..... and it seems that it is a very rare form of cancer in Europe and North America!

He's going to need support ........... especially psychological as he adapts to the new reality.

They usually biopsy the tissue removed from the site of the operation during the operation ..... they need to make sure that they have removed all of the cancerous tissue, so there would have been a quick and dirty "look see" by a pathologist at the time of the operation.

This would have helped to decide whether he had a 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 penilectomy.

THEN a more careful study would have been done in the days following

They may well have also taken one or more lymph glands from the groin area at the same time to examine those to see if the cancerous cells hadbegun to move away from the original site.

All of this will be explained to him at the appointment tomorrow

As will the need for any follow-up treatment .... such as chemo or radiation.

He is NOT cured until the specialist tells him so.

He MUST go to that appointment!
