Quite a lot of drugs, apart from statins, are affected by grapefruit and grapefruit juices... it wasn't allowed on the haemotology ward I was on, at all.... I was told that the rule of thumb is or should be... whatever the drug, check first whether grapefruit will affect your metabolism, and so encourage the build up of chemical toxins... ok for short term use, but not if you are taking something long term. |
