Baby is home now.. Hope the antibiotics continue to do their job.
I was not really surprised at the appointment coming so quickly as the nurse had said it would so they could send things away for a biopsy. I think they must keep aPpointments vacant for emergency appointments as I had two times to choose from. Cynth is taking me and will collect me after. Obviously there is nobody in the house but it is only a minor op with a local anaesthetic. Nowhere near I suspect as when I had my nose done.

OH takes the tablet he can't lie down with for half an hour once a week. Otherwise he takes 8 different ones daily with 2 of them twice a day now as they took him off one of the BP tablets as he didn't need it and reduced the dose of 2 others. Another will be stopped in the New Year. He's good and does a daily chart and ticks them off as he takes them and is used to the routine now. Like you Vera he has to wait half an hour after taking the first ones and then has his breakfast with another tablet. It just needs some forward planning on some days as you say and like you he takes a sandwich to eat before he goes into some meetings. It's years since I went to Blenheim, but it should be lovely all decorated for Christmas. What will you say if the coucher giver asks what you got yourself with it?
That's good news you have an appointment so soon AnnG! Less time for it to be on your mind and all done before you go to your daughter's. I hope Cynth can take you and bring you back. Have they said whether you will need stitches and whether they will need taking out? I expect it will be more sore for the first few days, but soon heal then.
What an amazing coincidence to meet someone you knew in the graveyard Gwyn!
Mel your phone may be different, but on the screen that opens when I switch mine on there is an icon on the screen with 'Gallery' written under it. Clicking on that opens up the pictures.

Evening all,
Anng thats good you've got your appointment all sorted and you won't have to long working about it ,it will be done and healing well, before you go away , enjoy your trip out with your friend tomorrow . I hope the little one is responding to the treatment and is a little better .
Oh well Vera the chicken manure will be good for the garden and you'll get the pleasure of ths nice flowers in the summer .
Ann thats good the curtains are now blocking the bright lights in the bedroom ,poor OH getting those bad heads and having to get up early to take his tablets .
Gwyn what we're the odds on meeting up like that with the lady in the graveyard ,if you hadn't stopped to chat you'd never have known you were right beside someone you knew from years ago
I went to get our tablets from boots today as I didn't go out the other day ,she gave me a big brown carrier bag full of boxes ,I said are you sure that's mine ,yes she said you've got two months this time to save them doing them over Christmas, so then of course Colin had two months to so out came another three bags of his tablets ,never had so many tablets all in one go . I then went to see Jake in the butchers and get my meat for the freezer ,while I was in there I got Jake to write down my christmas meat order so that's done. We then went to Tesco's as the clothes were all 25% off so I got a few bits for Christmas, son was saying that Katie wanted one of those cushions with the arms and that Tesco's had them reduced so I bought one for her birthday next month after I got home I thought I could have got Chelsea and Lacey one for Christmas so I'm going back tomorrow for two more .

This is twice it gone now.
ter
Done it again and I had'nt copied it.
Been out to Homeleigh garden centre today with my neighbour and we had a good look round with no men worrying about getting home. First I went to the car wash and had that done and left them the keys and said I would collect it when we had finished.
We went and had a good kook at the Christmas things and enjoyed looking at the snowy village display. I took pics on my phone but don't know how to send them to you or even if they have come out ok.
I had said I hope your great grandchild will be better soon Anng and that you have a nice day out tomorrow. That was good getting an early appointment to have your little op so it should all be over by the time you go away.
Vera fancy spending your birthday money on chicken manure instead of something nice for your self but it is good stuff for the garden.
Right I am posting this before it goes again.

That's great that you have been given such a quick appointment AnnG though I expect it was a bit of a shock. Better earlier than later. Is there someone who can take you and bring you home afterwards, Cynth perhaps? Will you be able to get help at home if you need it? I hope your little great grandson is starting to recover and will be home soon. Enjoy spending time with your friends tomorrow and have a nice lunch. It will help take your mind off the hospital visit.
Gwyn, how amazing that you met someone from your past while you were both tending family graves. You probably had quite a bit to chat about.
Annx, my morning tablet routine is a bit like your OH's though not quite as bad. I have to take 1 tablet as soon as I get up but I mustn't eat for about an hour after taking it so no quick breakfast. Then I take another 2 tabs just before I eat, have some breakfast and 3 tabs after breakfast. At the moment I'm also trying to fit in the eye drops at the right time. It's only 2 drops but they can't be put in together; there has to be a short gap between them. It's on days like this Wednesday when we have to be out at 8 am that it becomes a problem. We are going to Blenheim so I either have to be up at silly o'clock or go without breakfast. I will probably do that. I can take a sandwich to eat on the coach when we're underway.
Where does all the washing come from? I did 4 loads this morning and still have the bed linen to do. Later we went out to our local garden centre where I bought a couple of birthday cards and a couple of little "tree presents" and OH got a couple of big tubs of chicken manure and a tub of fish, blood and bone that he wanted. I still had a voucher given to me for my birthday last February but I think the giver was expecting me to buy nice plants or something good for me, not chicken manure! Later I did a bit of general tidying and potted half a dozen geranium cuttings that had been sitting in water till I had time to deal with them. I'm not sure they are going to take.
Now I'll go and sort out the remains of yesterday's stew and make some dumplings to go in it. Have a good evening and sleep well tonight.

Just had to battle my way through a phone call from dermatology. I have an appointment for this Thursday (27th) at 11.30. Was not expecting it to be that quick. Still that will get it out of the way for Christmas. Not sure how much it is going to affect me after it is done. Not sure if I will be able to walk for a few days. I am sure that it will be sore.I suppose it will all work out OK.

Well resting legs or not I eally cannot sit and do nothing so, as I said got the sock drawer and wardobe sorted before having breakfast (If you can call one slice of toast breakfast,) And that was a sit down rest. Stropped the bed and in the wash. then spent half an hour+ in the garden just working mainly in one spot on cutting back the ivy there so at least there is something in the garden bin for tomorrow,
Looking out the window just not I am pretty certain I had a Fieldfare in the garden. The magpies didn't like it and in the end chased it off.
Present wrapping this afternoon.
that is a lot of tablets your OH has to take Ann. I assume none of them would show up as a problem if he was ever breathalized? I am sure there would be a warning and also sure you will have cjecked but it does seem a lot. I bet he gets fed up with having to take them.
Not heard anything about the baby. I wait to hear from daughter to save worrying the parents for details.

Morning Folks,
A dry morning here with a bit of weak sunshine. OH was up at 6.30 am to take one of his medications he mustn't bend over or lie down with for half an hour, so had a shower next, then took his next scoop of tablets with another half hour wait to take another tablet with his breakfast. He had a council meeting at 9.00am and needed to set off early anyway because of the traffic so the tablet regime means being up early on these days. He had a poor night with the bad headaches we used to think must have been a kind of migraine without the aura, that we now know is inflammation caused by the type of arthritis. He had to get up to take the strong painkillers he doesn't take unless he has to as they can be addictive. He seemed a lot better and brighter this morning when he set off.
Our neighbour opposite was up at 6.00 am this morning and had his floodlight on and the garage door up and light on. I looked through the window as I heard noise and know he usually leaves later at 7.00am. It was brilliant though as I didn't realise his lights were on till I looked, as the new curtain rail blocks almost all the light out now, including his headlights, and they don't wake me up. :-D
AnnG I think a rest for your legs is a good idea today and will give them chance to recover from the walking and poking as you say and you have a nice lunch and meet up with a friend tomorrow. to look forward to. I hope there is soon good news about the baby when the antibiotics take effect.
Mel is it a big tree again that Aaron is cutting up? It's handy he can clear/cut back the trees for you and use them himself as well so you both benefit. I didn't know you had a little woodland and it is something I always fancied having when I was younger. The Mccaffee and Cloud emails are usually scams. Look at the email address on them and it is usually gobbledegook. I get them both from time to time but do nothing. When OH set up his windows 11 he managed to do it without having the cloud and I wish I had as well now!
I went to Aldi this morning and bought some things I forgot to put on the food order and the salad they didn't send. I was there before 9.00am and the carpark was already quite full, but luckily I spotted an empty end space near the store. I took a wheelie basket as I didn't want much, but of course came out with some extras. I just got through the exit door and the alarms went off and yes, it was me triggering them. A nice member of staff came over to me and said it was the basket setting them off. I asked her whether I had to wheel it out setting the alarms off again and then wheel it back in the entrance to where they were stacked and she told me to just leave it at the side where I was. There were no others there so I assume you leave them at the checkout as you can't take them out of the store? I'll keep my eyes peeled next time I go or stick to the trolleys, but I had no pound coins on me today to release one.
Well the windowcleaner was due but hasn't been so I will put my old clothes on now and clean the microwave and ensuite.I'm still getting the brown dust on my cloth when I wipe.

Sorry to read that great grandson is unwell, Ann. Poor little chap. I can imagine how you feel being away from his family, but it sounds like he is in the best place to get the right treatment to hopefully soon be home again. Good idea to rest your leg today, so that you can enjoy tomorrow with your friends.
So pleased it was last weekend that we arranged to go to Hampshire. This weekend would have been so very cold, if it was anything like here. When tending family graves in the churchyard, we got chatting to another lady who was doing the same. I noted the surname on the plot where she stood and I told her that I'd known a family of that name with a daughter named Veronica, when we were young. "I'm Veronica", she replied. We hadn't seen each other since youth club days, when we were teenagers :-)
A dull, damp start to the day here, but it looks more promising now that the sun is shining brightly.
This week will probably be the last 'normal' week at school, as they usually get the Christmas tree for December 1st, so I expect the staff will decorate their classrooms, after school finishes for the day on Friday. Traditionally, the tinies perform a Nativity play. I sometimes go to watch a dress rehearsal.Always lovely how well they respond to their teacher and manage to achieve impressive results, even though many of them are still only 4 years old and only started school in September.

good morning all. 4 degrees here, quite dark but dry. An indoor day today, my achy leg is playing up after the walk from the clinic yesterday And the poorly left leg is sore from the bit of 'poking'. So mostly a rest day I think. tomorrow hopefully lunch out with friends who are picking me up. These friends I only see once a year as they live over on the edge of the Forest of Dean, (when they are in UK). Much of the year they are at their house in Italy.

From the test swabs they took he seems to have a variety of nursery viruses plus the chest infection. He is on a second lot of antibiotics and oxygen. You feel there is something you should be doing but can’t as they are so far away.

O I did look up oh's dads old air gun and it seems it is quite rare. Its a German hand air gun but this one is in bad condition and dos'nt seem to open to load. I may have to soak it in WD 40 and see if I can release it. Its about 1912 and could be worth something. Ones in good condition sell between £175 to 275.

Iv'e had quite a nice sunny day today although its very low in the sky now. It started raining about 7.23pm and is quite steady now.
I do hope they can fit you in before you go away Anng.
Aaron called in about lunchtime and asked if he could go and cut up the fallen tree in my little wood. I told him to have a look on his way out and to come and do it any time he has a moment. He did say he may cut down the trees in the top garden that are on the other side of the wall to my border. Thing are growing out because of them.
Put two more bits on Ebay today but not done much else but it is Sunday.....

Ann, as Annx said none of us like to hear such news but you were probably expecting it Now it's confirmed they can get the treatment underway and hopefully will be able to fit you in before you go away. We'll all be thinking of you. Oh, that poor little boy - it's horrid for him and a worry for his parents. I hope whatever treatment the doctors give him gets rid of the problem very quickly and he's soon home again.
You are nearly there with the blankets then Mandy. How many squares is that in total you have made? I'm sure the girls will be delighted with them. Your house must have smelled lovely with the Christmas cake cooking. Once upon the time I made puddings for everyone and my brother made a big Christmas cake and halved it between us. He didn't marzipan or ice it as none of us are keen on that but he would make it early and then keep "feeding" it alcohol so by Christmas it could be quite boozy. It never seems worth making one now just for me and OH. The rest of the family aren't cakey people.
I will have a look at Appliances Direct Annx. Thanks for mentioning it. I did look at AO.com which Mandy mentioned and there were one or two possible cookers on there which will be worth a second look if I can ever find the time. Sometimes I wonder if I am being silly looking for a new cooker at my age but I've been moaning about the existing one for some time now.
We had a lot of rain overnight and this morning. It made me think of a song my children used to sing at primary school about a little boy who came to live here from a warmer, drier country. The refrain running right through this song was "It's raining, it's raining again". It did stop and a bit of sun peeped through for a while so OH popped out and planted the rest of the bulbs. We've never been so late planting them out. I'll be lucky if they are blooming before I want to lift them to use the pots for summer plants.

Afternoon All,
It's been sunny but quite windy here today. I have done some admin and ordered some things online and am now waiting for the food order which seems to come almost an hour later that usual lately. OH did a walk up to the village while it was sunny.
Not news that surprised you AnnG, but it will be good if they can fit you in to remove it before you go away, fingers crossed. The poor little boy getting RSV. It's one of the things I was invited for a vaccination for and went and had this year. I hope he soon feels better and can go home again.
Oh the delicious aroma of a Christmas Cake cooking now then Mandy! Lovely. It won't be long before the blankets are finished now then. I bet the girls often want to know if they are nearly finished!
Vera we both said the same that we would struggle to do the eyedrops on our own with the tiny, hard to squeeze bottles. I bought a small plastic thing from Boots that cups over your eye and holds the bottle in place for you to do your own but haven't tried it yet. As a child under the age of 9 I needed eyedrops once and did my own with the oldfashioned bottles without any trouble.
Just waiting for the food order now. No pasta salads again, so the chilli filled sub can go back, another sub I will keep and the cottage cheese was out of stock.
