Shopping all done and things seem to go up in price each week .

Ann this blanket is for Katie and the next one is for Lacey ,I'm hoping Chelsea won't want one.
If it is a driverless car would it be classed as driving as you'd be a passenger ,might be that in the future no one will need a driving licence or have to pass a test ,I wonder what the insurance will cost .
Jake is still having the odd driving lesson ,his test is November and he said if he doesn't pass it could be another six months before he gets another ,got to feel sorry for those that take several goes at passing as after two years you have to do the theory test again .

Chelsea has now got her provisional licence, mainly for identification I think ,she will be 18 next month , she's job hunting.

Vera hope it stays dry for your painter so he can crack on ,so far its dry here a lovely sunny warm day .

Morning All,

Sunny and not too hot as yet. OH walked up to the village to see if the little Morrisons that have replaced one of the two Co-op stores have any of their nut and seed mix he has now. It's just about the same distance as Vera's is to her little Morrisons! I've been to the shop and it was bedlam driving in as it is the Air Show this weekend and all sorts of historic army vehicles were arriving and a few airplanes were arriving as well as caravanners. I went home the other way past my parent's house and risked being held up at the level crossing.

Yesterday I drove up the M1 to Loughborough to go to the Armstrong Mill Store. Boy those huge lorries accelerate fast now and it was busy. Also new lanes added at the junction exit I wanted but at least I know for another time. I didn't fid any black sandals that I hoped to get. One pair were mule type ones I wanted but were a bit too narrow.

I must do some more nasty weed spraying today as well as some weeding as I think rain is due tomorrow. We had a short downpour yesterday so I hope the weeds will come out a bit easier. I had to rest my left knee yesterday afternoon as I caught it sharply twisting it getting in the bath to have a shower.

Mandy our surgery doesn't open till 8.00am either, so they must be opening early just to do the jabs. My goodness you have an order for more squares now and just as you have nearly finished one. Let's hope Katie doesn't decide she'd like one too or you really will have square eyes! :-)

Mel, it's a pity you weren't warned about your car rust before now so it could have been welded. I even get told how much tread is left on my tyres at the village garage when they do an MOT.

Lovely photos of you among the sunflowers AnnG on that swing big enough for two. I manage to resize photos on a very old student package I bought years ago and still use that. I was just looking online and there are some free resizing sites you can use. I'll have a try myself when I have time as I would like something that is easier to use. The pink Potentlla sounds nice. I have 2 red ones , a large flowered yellow one and an orange one that fades to a peachy colour.

I hope your handyman is progressing well with your jobs Vera and that your back has eased a lot now. Yes we dread the day we won't have a car too. Maybe we'll be ok though as we won't need to drive a driverless car!

Good morning all. sunny and bright here and 16 degrees, we still have not had any rain worth speaking about. I did buy one plant yesterday, Mandy, this time to go in the garden not a pot so I badly need the rain so I can dig a hole for it. A pale pink Potentilla.

Morning girls,

15 degrees here and pc is telling me 7 rainy days ahead.

Slept well but woke up hot seeking for a nice cold bit of the bed.

I wonder if I will hear from Stu today as he is due to come to me for dinner tonight.

I got two pics of you on the swing with the sunflowers behind you. Thats a hefty swing!

Not done anything much today as I feel so flat................................ Keep thinking I'll go up and get the recycling box back asnd then remembered I hav'nt got the car and it would take me about half an hour at least to get up there by walking. I have done a bit of painting on minitures. I have put lines on a butter maker and it looks much better now.

I am now going to cook the meat for a pie tomorrow and get in the shower. BIL ordered something for the pond and I'm not sure which day its coming so don't want to be in there when the delivery comes.

Lovely photos of you with the sun flowers Anng but I didn't get the others .

It's been a funny day ,sunny one minute then really black clouds as if its going to tip down but its been dry all day .
We had a good hour or more out in the front garden did a bit of dead heading and a bit of weeding but it's so dry ,a nice shower of steady rain would be lovely ,might get some tomorrow.
Did another tomato pick and gave a neighbour some with a cucumber so thats now 75 cucumbers .

Ok you have probably received a message from me that does not have any photos on it. At the moment I just can't work out how to send them I will keep looking and see if I can find out how to do it.

Yes, so many memories of this day over the years right back to the main event. Just looking at a photo of me on the day, I could no way get into that dress now and, goodness how young I look. I remember it was a very very windy day and for the photos my head dress and veil was secured by close pegs. We had a good 60+ years, I can't complain; some people don't get as many as that, I am greedy I would have liked a few more, but only if T had remained in good health as he was up to 6 months before he died.

I enjoyed my chat with my friend, she is two years older than me and until recently was still going to exercise classes. But she is having trouble with her leg and is walking with a stick, the first time I have been out with somebody who is walking slowly and more painfully than me.

I shall be thinking of you today Anng. Just go up the garden as Vera says with a nice G & T and enjoy the happy memories.

Suns out here and its 19 degrees and to expect 6 rainy days starting tomorrow.

Somehow I have signed up to a monthly sub on Amazon. I noticed it lastmonth on my statment and its just come out again. I think it to do with next day free delivery and I don't buy much on Amazon now so I am going to try and cancel it as its 8.99 a month and thats a lot for nothing I want.

A day of memories for you Ann and perhaps wondering what might have been. Have a drink in a special corner of your garden and raise a glass to your lovely T. May all your memories be sweet ones <3

No rain yet and our handyman is working well. I walked up to our little Morrisons this morning as I didn't feel too bad. There and back is about a mile and a half and I had had more than enough by the time I got back. I get annoyed that I can't walk faster or further when I've always been a good walker.

OH is calling that lunch is ready so I'd better get downstairs, eat that and try and think of something for dinner tonight.

Morning all,

Lovely sunny morning here and it feels quite muggy .

Going out into the front garden to do a bit of weeding this morning ,everywhere is so dry although we did have a little rain yesterday which just wet the ground but soon dried up.

Oh Vera what a shame the mice got to so many of your things in the garage ,it must have been awful going through all the things you'd stored away and having to throw them out , hope your back is getting easier each day but don't go doing to much to soon .

Oh Mel thats a shame about your car but it's done well ,what sort of car do you fancy next or have you just left it to Stuart to sort you ons out .

Ann thats an early appointment time for your jabs our doctors don't open till eight even for the flu jabs which they usually do on a Saturday morning .

Anng just a coffee and natter ,bet you buy a plant :-D

Two squares to go so I'm getting there ,now Lacey wants ons ,I'll soon have square eyes , her colour choice is two shades of pink and pale green with white but I think cream would look better.

Good morning all

No rain yet but it is forecast to rain at some time every day for the next 8 days and, guess what, our fence painting starts today. Our handyman is here now.

I hope Stu can find you a nice car very quickly Mel. It’s horrible if you are without transport, particularly in a rural area. Our car is 17 years old but should see us out as I don’t think we’ll be driving for too much longer. I’m dreading that time but we’ll just have to manage.

Your surgery seems to be leading you a bit of a dance with your blood tests and medication review Annx. Our Covid and flu jabs were booked for 11 Oct when we had our last ones in April.

Not sure what I am going to do today but I expect I will manage to keep busy.

Morning girls,

Woke at 7.40am for the loo and it was tipping it down so I went back to bed for a lie in. Its 16 degrees here and pc is telling me the rain will stop in 39 mins. Its just fine rain now but it was thundering down earlier. The garden will love it but so will the weeds.

I shan't be going anywhere today as I have no transport.

AnninGlos Report 27 Aug 2025 07:58

Good morning all 15 degrees, o rain despite forecast of course.

Ann you crept in there when I didn't notice. What a lovely long post.

I am waiting to hear about my annual blood test they normally call me around my birthday and I have just 2 weeks left of my prescription so need to chase it up I have a note on my calendar to do this. We have had a general notification that the next covid update vacc will be soon and to wait until the dates come out to book.

Goodness knows what is lurking in my loft. I must get a grandson to go up and check for me some time. any paper stuff I have kept is stored in a tin trunk in the bottom of one of the spare room wardrobes, not sure how to get it out of ther so will have to go through it while in situ.

Off out later to local garden centre with friend and her daughter, just for a coffee and natter really.
