Afternoon All,

Sunny and bright, but windy after yesterday being so cold. I've just got back from having my covid jab and was in and out 10 minutes before my appointment was due which was good. I had the same nurse that did my blood tests yesterday and you hardly feel the needle go in she is so gentle. I expect my arm will feel bruised later though. There were hardly any people there today and loads of parking spaces so it looks like people were enjoying the fine weather instead of visiting the doctors.

I had to request a refund on some actimel drinks Asda delivered on Sunday as they were out of date by yesterday! No quibbles though as they sent a refund off after a few minutes.

Oh Vera I think your OH will have to not do steps unless you are there to hold them. Thank goodness he wasn't badly hurt. OH had some aluminium steps of mine bend and collapse when he helped paint my tall garage doors at my old house. He fell onto them and cracked a rib so you can do some damage without even falling far. I think we are all having to take extra care as we are getting older. I left the kettle lid up boiling the kettle a few weeks ago and the steam filling the kitchen has left streaky runs all over the doors of the high wall cupboards and walls. They all need washing and I'm trying to work out the best way to do it safely, probably with something with a long handle!

Mel the lemon squeezer sounds like those you twizzle a lemon half on and it must be fiddly to make.

AnnG I seem to have done the same with my knees and back as you have with your leg. I was bending and lunging forward further with my knee than usual in the garden for a few days, hoping with exercise it would improve, but think I must have overdone it as they've both been troublesome since so I've had to leave things for now. I had pain straightening my legs in the night which hasn't happened before. It's good you are having an easier day today, but isn't it frustrating wanting to get on and get things done.

OH is out shortly, so I am going to pop out to a garden centre and to treat myself to an icecream as well.

good morning all. sunny here again but still windy I think and 8 degrees so far. Not sure what I am going to do today, had a bad night with my leg very painful, I half guessed it might be, three days quite intensive gardening when I knew I had put pressure on my legs bending leaning over etc. Plus walking to and from the hairdressers yesterday. I took a couple of parasetamols in the night and finally woke at 0830 so had quite a bit od sleep. an easy day I think today.

Goodness Vera I am pleased that your OH is ok. Maybe now is the time he will realise he should not be up a step ladder. Did he slip or forget which step he was on. That was a trip you could have done without.

Oh my goodness Vera ,no more step ladders from now on for him me thinks ,I hope he's not to bruised and sore today ,that could have been very nasty .
Colin would go up a ladder if he had his way but I stop him as I know his legs wouldn't hold him now ,and to think he use to stand on the roof of a house or walk up the tiles to the chimney and not batter an eye about it .
Well we had some lovely sunshine and I got all the washing dry , we dug some compost into the garden where the runners are going but never got round to doing the canes .
I did have a good hoover through and a bit of a dust .

Hallo ladies
I am still in the land of the living but the last few days have been so hectic that I haven't had a moment to do a proper post. I have read everyone's posts in bed late at night so I have seen what you have all been up to. I will try in the next day or two to tell you all that's been going on from our friend's funeral on Friday to yesterday when my very own Mr Accident-In-Waiting managed to fall off a step ladder outside so we were at the hospital till 1.30 this morning. Thankfully, he is OK so we were able to come home. Sunny here but with a cold wind. Enjoy the sun if you've got it. I'll be back soon.

Morning Anng, morning all,

We've had a little rain , the roads all wet but I can't see many puddles so we couldn't have had that much and it's not raining now just very cloudy , I have a load of washing in the machine so I'm hoping it brightens up so I can hang them out ,there's a bit of thd day wind as I can see the branches on trees moving about but at the moment the sky looks a bit grey .
We want to get the canes in today ready for the runner beans if it is dry ,they have all shot up in the pots and I've put them in the greenhouse and outside during the day.

Anng hope it stays dry for your walk to the hairdressers .

Ann , hope you've got to your blood test appointment and manage to get sorted with your photo at Timsons .

Oh Mel Dandelion wine ,don't think I'd fancy that as they do smell but they make wine with so many different fruits and plants ,mum and dad use to make wine with different fruits .

Better get hoovered through first them hopefully we can get the jobs done in the garden .

Good morning all 9 degrees and cloudy here at the moment and it looks windy again too. I have to walk to the hairdressers for 12 o'clock appointment., hoping we don't get the much needed rain during that time.
Ann you have been and are busy with medical appointments. My next appointment is on 9 May for my Covid vac,

Mandy yes, so many dandelions and they grow so big before you realise they are there. wonder why they are drought resistant.

hope Vera is gettting all her jobs done now and is able to get some sleep too.

Evening All,

Another sunny day but a few spots of rain briefly this afternoon. Been busy with appointments and jobs and I have a walk in blood test from 8.00am tomorrow, then covid jab on Wednesday and OH has a Nurse visiting on Wednesday too to bring his new treatment and show him how to inject it. I see you are busy with your gardens and AnnG is getting Jake to do some jobs. Your cues will soon be climbing now Mandy. I must say the the LED strip light that the electrician put in our garage is brilliant and gives more light than the spotlights in the kitchen! I wonder what Mel will do with the box seedlings when they are bigger.

Off to bed early now so I can hopefully be up and showered to be at the docs by 8.00am. Then we are off to Timsons as we didn't get chance this morning.

I have never seen Dandilion flowers as big as some I have this year. I m\ade wine with the flowers one year as they were all over the smaller front lawn. Can't remember what it tasted like if we ever drank it all all.

Still no Annx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Apr 2026 17:56

Well I went out there after I had lunch to weed the front garden, so many dandilions and thistles, I had not noticed the four thistles all growing in a clump. Actually I couldn’t get the eeeds up easily really need to have a go after it rains, when it does.
I also tied back a climbing rose and untangled it from a clematis.
