Standard...and the reasons I wouldn't go anything other?

Re 1911 which is the only extra for the platinum... for me at least I know most of the details of 'recent' people. BMDs especially are easier to find for free post 1911. the three or four 1911 needed don't warrant spending.

PLUS even on the search here, I found , testing with one specific person that I already knew, I would have to have known he was listed as Wm and not William for him to show up.

Once you've got back to the 1901. other sites offer the chance to look at the next image easily, and I have found that very helpful, where members of the extended family have been found in the same road.

I also have found the scope of records much better on Ancestry, esp the London records, that alone has saved me maybe the subs, in certificates I didn't need to purchase :)

Im a standard member. I wouldnt touch GR gold or platinum with a barge pole.

The 1911 census is available for unlimited look ups on FMP & Ancestry are in the process of adding it to there site. From my understanding GR has no control of the data base of its search facilities. It just sends you elsewhere, so errors found cannot be reported & corrected.

I personally don't think it is cost effective. You can search the 1911 census for free by name and address on the 1911 website. When you have your possibilities you could then take 14 day free trial on find my past and get the records.

I use to be a gold member on here but was unimpressed as you cannot step through records which you can do on ancestry so if a family is split over two pages half will be missing in your search.

I was just wondering how many would upgrade to the New Platinum Membership now it's availible? With Unlimited Free Lookups on the 1911 Census.
