At the WDYTYA show, the lady giving a talk on searching, said less is more or you can use * * * if there may be more than one spelling of a name.
Excuse repetition if you already know!!

Do you think it may be because of the difference in search process? ie are you perhaps being more specific on Ancestry in this case and limiting what comes up?

Even looking for something I already know, it can be the difference between putting in a location and leaving it blank,

I am useing both GR and Ancestry , in the 1901 cencus on GR i have found a very detailed document , but on Ancestry , nothing that i can see , and in other instances it has been the other way round , is this normal.
