Its an eco tea towel welllllllllllll

Eldrick Report 29 Jun 2010 19:17

A towel is a towel, end of. One cup, a tin plate and a knife don't take much drying, so towels have to earn their keep as a general purpose utility piece of absorbent fabric in this eco-friendly household, I'm afraid.

It was an expensive one, 59p. You could have got two for a pound, but I only needed one. Do you want me to get you one next time I'm there?

It's been a beautiful day here, the sun came out around 10.17hrs and it's been cracking the flags ever since. I've enjoyed an enjoyable trip to Aldi, aided by the knowledge of their opening hours, and purchased several carrier bags full of loose weetabix and a bucketfull of maltesers, a basket of frozen chicken wings and a new tea towel, all at bargain prices. A slight detour to netto provided a hundredweight of Ace lager ready for the next England game.

I'm now sitting in the orchard basking in the evening sun, sipping a glass of Pimms and at peace with the world. Bliss.

Good afternoon Eldrick, the grey clouds are dispersing here in the North West; the sun is beginning to come through and it looks as though it is going to be a beautiful afternoon.

In fact, it's very reminiscent of 42 years ago today when, at this exact time, I was arriving at church ready to be joined in Holy Matrimony to my beloved man [who is now snoozing peacefully beside me!]

Thought you would like that one :))

Well for a change it's NOT raining in Gippsland. The temperature has shot up to 10 degrees and the little kids are gambolling in the paddocks. I'm not sure who's winning though.
