The ISS.Is on view...........soon..

Edited.......International Space Station.

The ISS is quite prominent in the late evenings for a few days-- depending on the cloud cover.(and street lights)....tonight, at 23:10 till 23:16,visible all the way across from horizon to horizon,west---------to-----------east
and almost appearing overhead

and from 00:45 till 00:49(if you can stay up that late!!
both passes will be in the order of- 3.2 to -3.7, which is quite bright.....last night i saw both passes even through patchy cloud!!

Just saw it !!
but won't wait up for the next sighting ,lol

tonight,2 july
at 22:26........rises on the west horizon--at 22:31 will be virtually over head
at 22:35 will dim out as it goes into shadow
if the sky is clear a possible 8 minutes sight time, and at -3.7 will be quite bright.
at 22:28-ish--towards the western horizon you have Mars almost due west, with venus to its north, and saturn to its south

if you miss this one, there is another at-3.1(not quite so bright) rising at 00:03:38
midttrack (highest point)at 06:26 and goes into shadow at 07:06

while on the later sighting you have the moon on the eastern horizon with jupiter slightly to its north, (of the moon)

yes it is the International Space Station.........ISS.

orbits the earth aproximately every 90 minutes, but as the orbit is not in line with the earth, as it were, different parts of the world will see it, or not see,it as it depends on reflection of the sun on the solar panels.

these few days should be good, depending on the cloud cover or clear sky. mainly between 2200 and 2300 hours, if you see it once, have another look 90 minutes later.
a good sighting will be from horizon to horizon always west to east......about 6 minutes in duration.....

for times and other info goto heavens above (www.heavens-above.com) website, log in, enter your location, and you will get up to the minute sighting possibilities......
for the ISS, the Shuttle.....Satellites, space junk,Rocket cases anything that can have reflection from the sunlight.

10.40 yesterday evening it was really clear West of us here near Gloucester, then a cloud sadly covered it.

9:45 tonight........possible six minute sighting
and again at 23:21 for 5 minutes

sky cloud cover permitting, of course!!

I was able to see the ISS both passes last night and also the UARS in between, though it was smaller and I nearly missed it.

I was really impressed once I realised what I had seen on Saturday night - when ISS went over I could see a smaller light in front of it going exactly same speed on same direction. Thought I had a problem with new glasses but when I googled next day found it was the Russian Progress supply ship that had caused problems on Friday.

Skies permitting will be out tonight - the neighbours will be wondering about my odd behaviour lol.
