My mum used to make an apple pie and put some cloves in it. My Dad always got all the cloves on his plate. It became a family joke. I was in my 20's before my Mum told me she would serve it up and take everyone else's cloves out of their piece and put it on my Dad's plate.

Shame on you Mum!!

My Mum told me my beloved pet rabbit had gone to heaven, she lied, cause I dug it up, ewwwww.. and it was still there ;((

I asked my Mum if we could have some of the pink fish in the shop (salmon) - she gave me salmon each time we had fish after that - which was cod with some pink food colouring added to the water. Just after the War we had rabbits and I was told father rabbit "Peter" went to Heaven, and I was about l8 before I was told we had eaten him.
