have you used it much in your home?

Just wondering if people wear their favourite colour more than have it in furnishings around them?

Hi Liz, my favourite is all shades of blue, I wear it but don't have any in the colours of my room. Oh I have pale blue sheets and duvet cover if they count, lol.

I also love blue - such a calming colour. I wear it and it sneaks into my home and my craft - sometimes without me realising it.

Like Just Jean, I too love the purples and lilacs, and also fuchsia pinks.
I have lilac in my bedroom below the dado line, and the ubiquetous Magnolia above. I have several pieces of clothing in the range of purple to lilac in my winter wardrobe. I also have a whole section in my garden that goes through the whole range from purple to fuchsia pink, in the lovely flowers and plants.

Blue - all shades really, also purples and deep pinks. I don't tend to use it in the house, though, sticking to mainly neutrals although I do have a lot of blue crockery, Le Creuset stuff etc. and a big dresser full of blue and white plates, jugs and spice jars.

My favourites are purple and lilac and I wear those colours a lot (my friends tease me about it, especially when I wear shoes to match!) I have many purple, lilac and magenta flowers in my garden and my favourites are anemones, which I love to paint (my other hobby apart from gardening.) However, in my house I have quite a lot of sage green, terracotta and warm creams, apart from the dining room where I painted the walls in Farrow & Ball's Eating Room Red about 10 years ago and I still love it.

Daff, the sites you mention look interesting - I shall have a look later. My garden beckons at the moment!

LOL Daff,
Did the quizzes - all wrong!
The first one had me as a near nymphomaniac.
The last one had my personality colour as blue. I can't stand blue - maybe I hate myself!! LOL

I love BLUE'S any shade and any tone.
That means, blues mixed with greens or red... Which would give turquoise's, purple's...
My wardrobe is full of mauve's, I have noticed.
My home?
Like everything else I have, it is determined by its price, so, no my home is not colour coordinated, or fashionable! hey ho.... ;-0)
SO.... what doe that make me?
Go on Liz, I can take it, you know I can.... boo hoo

My favourite colour is green. It reminds me of Spring, which is my favourite season.

I was going to say that I don't have much green in the house .... but when I checked I find I have a green carpet in the lounge (over thirty years old, so needs replacing);
my bathroom is a sort of sea green;
the small bedroom is a very pale green, in fact almost white with a hint of green. It has some fancy name, but I can't remember it;
The kitchen worktops have green in them, my wall tiles in the kitchen are multi-coloured, some of them green!

Untill I checked, I just hadn't realised how much green there is in the house.

I don't have a lot of green clothing at the moment (having said that, I haven't checked).
I look better in soft lilacs and very pale purple shades. (at least that is what I have been told).
But my sister looks great in green.

I love deep colours to wear, but dont seem to have them in the home. Mostly country chintz patterns, blue and pink carpets on grey background.

I have Rose pink in my bedroom along with the colours lilac and pale blue, cream
my bathroom is cream , pale pink with gold Accessories.
and when my little granddaughter is older and stays over night we are going to paint the walls of the spare room pale pink then add touches of dark pink with butterflies as that's what her cot quilt has on it now

Thanks ladies, very interesting, there was a purpose to this thread which has been well fulfilled now

Sorry I can't announce some wonderful info based on your personality through your fave colours lol but it shows that we all manage to show our creative side with our colour schemes. I can't be doing with following fads, as some people seem to do and decorate every time a new shade of whatever comes into vogue, I used to choose what I liked and blow anyone else. Of course, can't do it here as misery face only decorates when really necessary and that's not too often. Since I have known him I have helped him decorate his lounge and stairway area, sort of open plan so couldn't do one without the other. That took him 9 months and altho since then we have bought stuff for other rooms, he has never got round to using it, so has a store of wallpaper,carpet and fabric for kitchen diner and not much else. He started the bathroom in Nov 2007 but as yet it's still unfinished and the shower he put in isn't yet ready for use. He has the paper for the walls, he just hasn't got round to deciding on the paint for upper part of walls, or finishing the bathpanel, flooring and choosing a cupboard! I have given up trying with it!

Green and blue are my favourites and I love a combination of both.
Outside of house is painted a pale mint green but shortly will become blue!
Inside I have mostly warm or neutral colours except for bathroom and loo which are turquoise and white with a hint of green.
