I have been researching for over 40 years so not exectly new to this fascinating passtime. I use the St.Caths records (Findmyfamily.com) quite extensively and as far as I am concernered they are one the best family history's sites available for the type of information they offer. However, I am more than a little disappointed in their attitude/approach with messages sent to them which, in my opinion, can only help BOTH St.Caths records and fellow researchers of the future. I have a double marriage which, although unusual, is not unheard of. In my case the GROOMS Christian name AND Surname are the SAME (cousins). On checking the marriage records in order to purchase a certificate for BOTH, I find that there is only the one of these two GROOMS in their records. There was little point in ordering two certificates as I would receive the SAME one twice as BOTH marriages have been given the SAME references numbers. (IE: with the same bride). Fortuanely I was aware of the surnames of both of their wifes. so I ordered the two certificates useing the BRIDES surnames. I would have thought that the simple answer to this would be to give EACH marriage a separate reference number so that although there would be two grooms with the SAME christian AND surname, there would be two DIFFERENT reference numbers indicating that these were two DIFFERNET marriages? I did send a message to St.Caths but never did get a reply. This of course was not the first time I have not had a reply from them. Yes, they seem to have a facilty to reply to a COMPLIMENT, but they do not seem to have a sysytem which allows them to answer any query which does not fall into their obvious "SIMPLE TO ANSWER" queries.
I have also sent the odd message giving them full details of missing entree's in their records but again, no reply.
Anyway, What a pity.

Is this the site you use?

http://www.ukfamilyhistory.co.uk/certificate.php

I see that certs cost £15.95 from them and they are £9.25 from GRO.

Personally I would use Free BMD, Ancestry or Findmypast to find records and then order from GRO.
