I am afraid I pretty much did the same to someone... we spoke, I promised them loads, and then later that day I had the most devastating news, and spent the best part of the next 6 months in and out of hospital, literally fighting for my life.

That was in autumn 2008. I have only very recently remembered, and sent all the stuff out. Mind, if there had been a thread like this I'd seen, I might have taken umbrage and not sent it at all. They had been very patient, waiting.

Maybe this person doesn't get kicks out of it... just maybe they are doing what I had to do, or worse, actually dying.

It depends i suppose on how many other things are going on in their lives at the time... easier for someone who is retired to get down to doing things than a working person or with children demanding attention.

I am guilty of saying I will send such and such details to a cousin, it isn't something she couldn't find herself though, records rather than unique info, but I must do it!

very frustrating when you know there is info 'just out of reach' though I agree...lol I had some a few weeks ago, it was from a relative and just popped into conversation...they hadn't thought of it before...and since I didn't know the names couldn't have asked lol.

Try again later on, after summer maybe when people are not out and about so much?
