Has anyone else got email account(s) with Virgin? We have had emails from them re. their new email system, and it directs you to their site if you want to check, so sounds genuine but always a bit dubious!
Any advice gratefully received.

We have recently had to update Virgin Media because they are making changes to their e mail provision.

yes I have had that email and another one yesterday reminding me I hadnt used email tool . well no i haven't cos it wont work I get" Internet explorer wont allow it as feels it a malicious threat", Did the manual changeover yesterday and now I still get incoming mail BUT I can't send mail, keeps wanting to verify my password but wont accept it when I take out the dots and reimput. not happy as i use that email for all my attachments
I have a blueyonder email set up and they played silly beggars with it a few months ago and were no help when you phoned them cos they dont support Outlook Express ,well excuse me thats who Telewest used when they originally set up my broadband!! only lots of complaints on their forum made them accept it was what they had done or not done!! and they put it right so we could all use our email again, Now it seems they are doing it again , its all down to them switching to Google mail.

I have blueyonder e mail addy but use Windows Mail. I have done the update and haven't had a problem with e mails. However, since I did it my PC has shut down twice while on windows Mail. OH is on outlook express and google mail and has updated Virgin and not had any problems. Should add I use firefox but had to switch to IE to do the update.

I have just started to use VIRGIN e-mail.... and I hate it.
There is nothing wrong with it I don't suppose, but I loved INCREDIMAIL which I had for years and now cannot use.
I get the impression that they are trying to make us join the 'paying' one. I was so happy where I was.
Good luck with your Virgin e-mails. If you are worried about it, then phone them. They are lovely on the end of the phone... honestly.

Thanks for replies everyone, and apologies for not getting back sooner.
Well, it's a valid message I see, which was what I needed to know, thanks very much for confirming that.
My original post was a bit misleading in that we have a Virgin account but still use Blueyonder email address. We use Firefox. I wonder what will happen if we do nothing?? Might tke Deanna's advice and phone them!
