metal spoons taint it. Mum used to make it in a large saucepan and we dipped apples on a stick into it and let them set . used to love the skirt of toffee they had after they set. mum always put a dash of vinegar in too |

I have always used a wooden spoon for my toffee, it reaches such high temperatures plastic might melt or go soft, metal of course is a no no. |
