Suemaid in the long run it will be cheaper by €2000+ a year, yes I need to if I am ever going to buy my own home again. Also as much as I don't want to admit the idea of non leccy payment in winter is good . I was cold last year because I refused to use heaters.

lagooner I was well known for itchy feet amongsst the familly. Standard joke was and what county is she in now. When I told Dad I was off to Spain he asked what took me so long to move again ...lol I had done 5moves in 8 years.

I will settle soon,I want to buy again and that will be my last move (I think)

I had 37 house moves in 34 years... the last move was almost five years ago. I will move out of here in a box, and my ashes will be brought back and buried with the cats and dogs ashes, lol

Sometimes I lived in a house for a couple of years, other times just a couple of months or weeks... long enough to get everything unpacked and in it's place, and for it to feel like *home* lol.

These days, I just move the furniture around a lot.... it mostly scratches any itch feet!

We move every couple of years...Doesnt help as hubby is in the army!!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 13 Jul 2010 13:28

Hiya Jules.... my hubby was in the Army for 34 years, retired just under 5 years ago... I was married to him all bar the first 6 months, lol, in the first 10 months of marriage I moved 5 times... one of which was overseas. I was pregnant for 3 of those moves, one heavily. He, of course, was away on exercise, or just away, for all bar one of them, so completed alone.

I was bombed out of a couple of them, again when I was heavily pregnant in one case, (second pregnancy) and also had to move in the middle of civil unrest, in a very bad area to be living in as a Brit wife, lol.... he was there for that one ;¬))

That sounds like I am no longer married to him, lol..... but I am!! It was well worth all the upheaval... I don't regret stopping around with my fella... he is still my own hero!

So, I suppose that is the answer, to maybe a question you haven't asked, Uzzi.... if the person you are moving for and with is your hero, then follow your heart and it will all come out in the wash. (((((((((hugs)))))))

Awww Daff and yes OH is my hero still and he wants to move, so I will follow.
Actually he wants to move because he thinks it will be better for me, and yes it will be eventually with the savings that we will make from the parcela prices and the money we should make from the bus, it would be hoped that sooner rather than later we can buy our own parcela and casa.
My reluctance is partly because I don't want to give up my bus (even though it's so tatty), partly that even tho' we don't own the ground we own the home, partly because I'm not a 100% on the static that we are going to or the fact that we will be going to a smaller parcela. Mainly 'cos I'm in such a dither with it all, we move on the 1st Oct and somewhere between now and then I have to sell the bus, pet proof the other place pack up all this end (including the top boxes, other people would say attic or loft) ((Yikes where is that stuff going to go))
Get the internet connection moved over (MOST IMPORTANT). one thing from it all I will have a tele (if I can be bothered to buy the sky card lol)
It's a bummer that OH is working flat out until at least the end of August.
BUT I can pack in a month if need be !

Oh I deleted my moving thread ...would like to say so there was only one thread going but I did it by mistake see I said I was in a dither.
I will keep posted of what's what.

thinking about it .......it's gonna be fun 'cos I can pack all my mess away and start afresh and it will make me sell all my unwanted/un-needed ermm antiques /heirlooms / crap plus 500 books. (I joke not OH reckons sell them at 3 for a €1 I'll make about €180 )

Oh dither dither dither.....

My Mum has lived in her house for over 40 yrs!
It was a new build when she and my Dad bought it, and the small village they moved to has grown considerably, reducing the amount of green fields and country lanes that used to surround them, but she's determined she's going to stay put!
