I was actually made to think yesterday about this.

You have 5 maybe 10 minutes to get out before flames lick around you. Smoke is already there.

What do you take.

I would grab my mutts and their leads whether I would stop to harness them I wouldn't know (and hopefully never will)
Other than that and all close together where I am usually sat , my phone, lappy, purse and Dad's photo. ( I could swoop them in one move.) lol I would leave behind the cable for the lappy and the charger for the phone.

If time was really short Mini I would let loose she's sensible Minx would have to be carried so phone and Dad's photo and purse , lappy could go.

Hayley that's true with no time to think and I doubt you would over think I would just grab my mutts. (OH being at work so there would have just been me),

I think I would grab leads but I know I wouldn't as others would provide, I would hate to lose my purse for it's contents, which aren't replaceable but in the crux are better lost then the lives of my mutts.
The otherside of it I would probable throw my mutts over the fence and try and save the gas bottles so they didn't explode and cause more damage.

I have often thought about this and have read that you should have documents like insurance in a folder that you could grab, but that never seems practicable to me. We have all important docs in a fire proof 'safe' and hope it would protect them. I hope I would have time to grab my purse but safety would have to come first. And you are assuming this is during the day, if you are woken at night you would be disorientated so I think the instinct would be to get out youself and your OH (and hopefully animals would follow.)

Ann I hadn't thought about documents etc ..yes I was saying during the day as that is when the fire here happened. At night to be woken ...I would just get my mutts out and be thankful that what I have to lose is so little,

I seriously am thinking now tho' that I keep a 'folder' by the door with everything I need ....tin cans as I call them go up quicker than bricks and mortar.
Then I think what do I need aslong as I know the insurance numbers and the pet passports and mine and just write them all down and keep a log book ...then you have 1 thing to grab (for ease) and pets (including OH's)
