I agree with 007 1/2 Theresa Mays has talked about using more of the money that criminals who are fined, to use towards maintaining women's refuges and services specifically for the victims of domestic violence.

And criminals' assets can be siezed (edit seized) to compensate victims etc... so why not extend that?

Maybe that would stop some of these claims? If they thought that they wouldn't benefit from their nice little windfal!

Waste of money! They should be putting the chickens on trial.

If they do get compensation in the end, it should immediately go towards paying either their victims or towards the costs of their trial or imprisonment.

Morning Stray, no I dont think they should either. I think their human rights and all that are wiped away the day they commit a crime and they get what they get!

PRISONERS who were sick after eating dodgy egg sandwiches are set to pick up massive compensation.
And the final bill could cost taxpayers up to £500,000.

Dozens of wardens also suffered from suspected salmonella poisoning after scoffing the canteen sarnies.
More than 300 lags at Wandsworth Prison, London, went down with sickness last year and justice chiefs admit it was their fault.

_____________SHOULD THEY BE COMPENSATED OR NOT? WHAT'S YOUR VIEW FOLKS?
