Hi Dawnie
Sorry to hear that your Great Aunt has passed away. Yes the generations seem to melt away especially for those of us researching.
In my own family My Parents are both 82 years old.
My father has an Aunt who is 91 years old but has dementia and now lives in a residential home. Another Aunt is younger than him(don't ask?) but only 80 years young last June, suffers with diabetes and memory confusion too. They are the last two of their generation.
My Mother is the eldest now, I don't know of any others, unless they are still hiding !!

Linda :o)

Hi Dawnie,

I am sorry to hear of the death of your great aunt. 87 was a good age tho and it's nice that you have good memories of time spent with her.

Yes it is scary the way the family elders dwindle.
I was at a get together last week after the interment of the ashes of a cousin's wife, he died in 2007 and has one brother left who is getting a poor old chap. I have another, female, cousin who is 80 altho still able to go on a coach holiday to Scotland where her father came from, and that's a long haul from Norwich. There are another three female cousins older than me, and one male altho he is at the start of Alzheimer's apparently, and then my two brothers after me and 2 younger female cousins. That's on my Mum's side and there are a few cousins left on my Dad's side, mostly older than I am, but no more aunts and uncles.
I really should start writing everything up in the Family Bible which my brother has at the mo, but it was left to me so I shall have to ask for it back and start filling in all the names and info while the half Scots cousin is still ok as she will help me check everything is correct.

Take care, I hope your parents will be around for a long time yet.

Lizxx
