I have AVG Free - I did so on the advice of our computer guru, and have double-checked with him twice - he assures me that is all I need. Make sure you have a firewall, I understand the Microsoft one is fine. He did say if I really wanted to pay I could use Kaspersky, but it wasn't necessary.

Thanks Whirley . The laptop gave up the ghost though when i loaned it to my grandaughter for her home studies. Not something she did ,it just played up and then died. It was getting on a bit though. I havent replaced it as yet

I have Norton and I do believe with PC protection you do get what you pay for. My friend uses a freebie one and the amount of viruses she has picked up is amazing. & if you do get any probs, you can live chat with them etc and they are really helpful people.

Shirley, I can have upto 5 pc's on my package (i think that's right, OH will know) so you may want to check it out on yours.

A long time ago some-one recomended one or two FREE security sites. Can anyone remember what they were. I am changing server and along with my end of contract my security ends and as this was in with the package and not separate I was wondering if there are any free sites still available, don't want to be paying out more if there's no need to.
