Requests for tree viewing

No. Perfectly reasonable.

Sometimes people send "Can I view your tree" requests by accident. I get some when I'm helping out on the other boards. I always ask what the connection is and expect a reasonable answer before I even think about opening the tree. If the connection is really quite distant I tend to pass on the information without opening the tree at all.

I would expect at least a message saying they think they might have a connection with someone in your tree. Hot matches can be a way that people find this out and sparks their interest.

I never mind giving permission for people to view my tree BUT I will not do so until the person at least tells me who they are interested in! Is that too much to ask?
