i want to trace my family tree but i hardly know where to start.i have my mother and fathers name..some cousins but dont know full names or dates of birth etc.im completely lost so if anyone can help please feel free to contact me

David,

We all started with very little, so don't let that put you off doing your family tree.
Start with what you know and work back.

You have your parents names and some cousins names. That's a start.
If they are still alive, ask them about themselves.
If none are still alive, do you have access to, or does another relative have any of their personal papers, ie birth marriage or death certificates? You can gain a lot of information from these. What do you remember about your grandparents or aunties and uncles?
Start filling in with what you know. Ask questions of any living relatives.

Once you've got a bit of a tree going, come back to us on here and there'll always be people who will help you with the next step.
I suggest you read these boards for a while, I learned loads that way, especially the Tips and Records Office boards.
