While they are at it, I wonder if they will sort out all the other 'bugs'. |

I believe that when the computer comes up with the hot matches it looks at 2 details, 1. the name and 2 the year of Birth. Ibelieve that it should add another match, The place of Birth. This would reduce a lot of my useless matches. |

Yes Rex, I agree. Since when has Whittlesey Cambs. been in Western Australia. I despair sometimes. Only match I have every had is with a distant rellie, whose information is what I gave him to get him started. |

I have just received notification of my Hot Matches. When I came onto GR there was no hot match beside the words. I looked through all the pages and not a single hot match to indicate the new ones. One of the examples in their email gave 3 names that allegedly were hot matches with mine but I have never heard of those 3 names. |

I too am very disappointed with what has been done to hot matches, and had posted my own thread last month. |

I agree that GR don't seem to have any method for assessing the impact of changes on customers. As the genealogy market becomes more competitive, the GR team seem to be losing the plot. |

Janet, you say ..." I have noticed that for some time in addition to new hot matches I have other names whom I have never contacted and they are not in my contacts list. They are just there as they supposedly match names in my tree." |

Does GR have a department for making things harder for their customers than they already are? |

I've never seen GR reply before either, except to a PM. |

They might not be able to match place names but matching continents surely can't be that difficult!! |

I agree with Inspector GP that is what I want them to fix too. And I have emailed them about it. But they say changes are at the requests of members?? So WHO requested that one? |

I think this is a fault, bug or call it what you will, rather than a deliberate change at the request of members. If you look at FAQ's in Help it says:- |

And that just proves that some staff know what is happening ... and maybe others haven't told others .... |
