I have been given a 'Who do you think you are' Family tree maker, unused and I would like to know if anyone can answer a couple of questions please.
A. Is it compatable with Windows Vista
b. Is it safe or will I get "this may damage your computer" as I sometimes get when trying new things.
Any ideas on how to use it would also be great.
Very many thanks

Phyliss,

You don`t say what version it is, but if you look at the small print on the back or side of the box if its the 2010 version, it should tell you if its compatible with Windows Vista.

If its unused it should come with a free 6 month subscription to Ancestry...

If it's an older version you can download a patch to make it compatable with Vista.

Thanks Nickydownsouth. I think it was bought in 2008 but will double check. Unfortunately or not, I am already on Ancestry so the 6 month subs won't apply

Once again thanks

Phyllis, if the 6 months sub to Ancestry has not been used, you should still be able to use it.

I did that a while ago, when I got a new version of FTM, I was already on Ancestry and they just added the free months on top of what I already had, so try it in case.
