OOps Davy Baby, thats why my dad, as no more than a lad, was on the Russian Convoys, which resulted in him having Alapicia. The ' over sexed, over payed and over here ' boys where busy being leaders of WW2.

if it wasnt for the attack on pearl harbour, I dont think the yanks would have bothered.......
but they DID help us out with their "lease lend" of equipment!

I have a foot in both camps family wise so I certainly am not knocking the Americans in any way, their bravery and loss was no different when it came down to it....

but I AM taking rather an unholy pleasure in Mr C putting his foot in his mouth ;)

Reminds me of a quote attributed to Michael Caine some years ago when he was living in America:-

"I knew it was time to come home when my daughter informed me the war started in 1942 " !

When I heard him say it I thought he was refering to the current conflict in Afghanistan
