Ann,

I'm also having the same problem, normally they don't shrivel off. Mine are round courgettes really tasty just hope some of them get bigger enough to taste. Thought maybe it was because it's been so hot this year, will try the tip of pollinating them and see what happens :)

We didn't grow any this year ,as we always seem to get so many, and can't give them away as everyone else has too many too.We have been given lots from a neighbour. They have had tons !

Val, that was what it was recommended for on a site I looked at... so I thought I would try it on the courgettes, and it was brilliant. I have 6 courgette plants, and get a courgette a day from each... I take them when they are about 5 inches... they are lovely and crisp, and don't lose much of that if steamed or even baked... scrummy.

Mine started to do that, Ann... then I sprayed them with a bit of sugar and water... very weak... and it attracted the bees and pollinators..... it would seem that is why, they are not getting pollinated, so the shrivel.

Why do I keep reading that it is a bumper year for courgettes? I had one decent one and the rest get to about 2 inches long then shrivell and fall off. They are in a large container. This is the third year running I have tried and the third year with the same proble. I think I wont bother next year. I love them too.
