So Georgina reverted to her maiden name.

Did I miss something? When they found his second marriage did they say what his marital status was (divorced, widowed, single)? or did they just skip over the fact that he could have been a bigamist?

I would have thought she would have done, she had ditched the child and hubby has disappeared so she would be more acceptable to be a spinster!

That Esther Teague states her father as John on the marriage records.

.....actually - when they said in the programme that, after not finding Georgina in the census, that they had to go through Fredericks family, is it possible that all the forces of the BBC researchers couldn't find her?

I was very frustrated when they just seemed to brush her aside - but this may have been the reason.
She could have 'taken up' with someone - who we don't know - and called herself 'Mrs' - hence the difficulty in finding her

it probably is Maggie lol, she may just have changed her name to that of someone she was living with, or died unidentified out on the streets.

It may well be that the researchers for the programme did find all this - but it all had to be squashed into an hour and was edited out in favour of the lines we did see!

My g gran called herself 'Mrs P' and all the children have Mr P as their father on their birth certs - but they weren't married!

However - I'd still like to know what happened to Georgina!!

True, Roger, but it would have been nice if they'd given a quick reason why they didn't follow Georgina. After all, if she'd died - that would have been a justifiable reason for Cyril to be in an orphanage.
It would also have been nice for the rest of us genealogists for the BBC to admit, with all their resources, that even they were stumped!!!

Were Fred and Georgina married dec 1883 and Cyril born June 1886?
I wonder if they had child before Cyril,as it seems they married quite young.
If she wasn't with child when they married.

Did they mention that Cyril married again according to tree on Ancestry.
Tree owner is grandson of Cyril F C Everett 1886 died 1941 and Tuedon Sagay.
Grandson lives in Texas.

I think his admision records stated that his mum put him there because his father had long deserted them

On ancestry there is a Jonathan Everett researching this family, he lives in Texas, he's been a member since Sept 2009, wonder is this Ruperts brother. Also a Mike Naylor in British Colombia has the same info in his tree, only info for Georgina is birth date 1863. Did BBC team know this I ask myself.
