Does anyone out there know of how to get a resonable priced travel insurance as im going to Florida in November and i have a benign hear tumour and im having to have a pacemaker fitted next Tue and also my mother is coming with us & she is 82 and so we both need insurance and everywhere i try it seems really expensive for pre existing medical conditions any ideas folks? Also would i be better to find somewhere where i pay and i am permanentely covered for travelling?? any ideas on that one? Anybody? Thanks in advance!

I was just looking at a SAGA site for you.

They do mention cover for under 50s on the same trip !

I tried them but with my heart tumour and my mothers conditions it was really expensive. Just wondered if it would be possible to find an insurance place where i could pay each month & be covered for when i go away for existing conditions. Im only 41 so its really annoying to have to pay so much for travel insurance!!!

America *is* expensive because of the need to cover medical expenses.. No NHS equivalent, as you are aware!

We paid £250 for 2 of us for 14 days independent travel which included pre-existing high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and asthma. That was with SAGA and the cheapest I could find. It's cheaper to get the quote in the internet than if you phone them.

Some Banks offer annual travel insurance as part of their 'package' on a current account. You may have to pay a monthly charge. It might be worth looking into that.
