You may remember the saga of Wilfred,a sad little stray cat that I took in last Autumn. He is doing very well, has a nasty bowel condition that is being controlled with regular steriod injections, but is otherwise fine.

So,that made three resident cats. Untill three months ago, when I was adopted be a beautiful, sleek black female that I had been feeding all winter. I hadn't thought that she was a stray,as she looked so healthy.

Anyway, after worming her way into our hearts,I thought that I ought to ask around and also put a notice in our local pet shop.

However, nobody came forward to claim her,so yesterday took her to the vet to be checked over and see about spaying ect.

After a while the vet emerged from inspecting Maud's rear end,and informed me that she was a he. How did I miss that? Not only that, but HE is also chipped and called Felix.
I'm devastated,we both love her/him now and he loves living with us,and gets on fine with the other three.
The vet couldn't get through to his owners at the time,so we will just have to wait and see.
Meanwhile,we have amended his name to Mordred, much better than Felix, don't you think? Google it to find out who Mordred was,a fascinating tale for geneologists.
Well, have to go and pretend to do some housework,Nina in Sheffield.

Hi Annina, long time no speak. I think it is an easy mistake to make. That is why there are so many stray kittens about. Hope owners are happy to leave him with you.

Maybe his owners wont want him poor little fellow. Or maybe they moved away and he has found his way back and they will be over the moon to find him again. Either may puss can't lose can he?

May I add to your tale and say that our little stray female who the cats protection had neutered, is still with us for meals, and brings her old mate Thomas with her quite often, so it looks as if we have them both now for the foreseeable future. Sweetie eats inside the back door, and her friend cant believe his eyes when he sees her come in and there are PEOPLE in there!!
