A member of my family had both his knees done a couple of years ago. He walks all over now, hardly ever uses his car.

Hi Emma, just seen your thread.
Glad to see you have a referal and hope that it wont be too long before surgery.
Father in law had his knee op and once he saw the surgeon things moved fairly quickly.

My brother had both knees done at the ages of 69 and 70. He was quickly well enough to go on walks up our local mini mountains.

Hi Island and Phyllis

Thank you both for your input. Island I'm glad to hear your aunt is well and at 86 how wonderful.

Phyllis I'm sorry to hear that you did not get your op. It amazes me that with so much pain and telling you that a knee replacement was needed that because of your age it was no go. I also have RA. I'm happy you are not in pain at the moment and long may it last for you.

Will keep you all posted when I get a date.

Hello Emma

My father in law had a knee replacement last year, he's waiting for the other knee to be done. He was in for a few days after the op and he was up and moving about the next day with crutches, and he had pyhsio and exercises to do

Received letter from Rheumatology Clinic with an earlier appointment for me as am in a lot of pain at moment. GP
wrote for one for me when I saw him 2 weeks ago. Hoping
to get knee replacement and was wondering if anyone out
there had theirs done. Never thought I'd get so excited about
the thought of an operation.
