Very good service, they removed and took away all packing and took away the old one for £5. As they lifted the old one there was a loud crack from somewhere underneath Lol!!!

OH now fitting it but having to seal off the old hot fill pipe. Do all machines these days only have cold fill? What is/are the benefit(s) or otherwise of that? All the ones we looked at were the same.

Yes, we also had excellent service for the shop ' up the street '. They also took away old washer for £5. Also they disconnected the old one AND connected up the new one.
Sometimes I think it pays to use your local shop, if you have one, rather than the large high street electricals.
Glad you are all sorted at last Ann

Ours was a local independent. OH fitted it himself as that would have cost £25. Just running a cold wash through it to check for leaks in the pipes.

All cold fill only now.
I've got my new toy too, a dishwasher, and its cold fill only too.
Dont have a hot water tank now so I dont feel its a waste when hot water is there.
New boiler heats it as you need it.

So, if you wanted a bath Marion, does that mean you have to heat the water 30 minutes or so before hand like an immersion heater?

Hi Ann.

The bolier goes on when you run the tap..then off. I have showers mostly but, when I do have a bath I can top it up :)). There will always be hot water on 'tap'. I takes a wee while to start pumping through the system. I use plenty soap and cold water if I'm up in the night. A lot quicker lol

I've had mine 5 yr and its cold fill only, I think most of them were, if not all when I bought it.

Mine is cold fill, only problem apart from now getting noisy with age, the rubber seals have all got black mould embedded in them, nothing will shift it. The repairman says its because I dont do a boil wash.

I think they are all cold fill nowadays - I think I saw someone pointing out the other day that this is not very green if you have solar or other independent heating, it is a waste of the warm water you already have stored if you then have to wash with cold water being heated in the machine.,

A case of not being able to please all the people all the time Elizabeth. I suppose cold fill sounds odd to we who are used to thinking it quicker to use the hot water from the tank. But having said that with modern detergents you don't need it at such a high temperature. I did see somewhere that all towels and bedding should be washed on a boil wash.

And with the dishwasher, I have found that, providing the pots and plates are not too mucky or it is not too full I can run it very successfully on a quick wash. I do run a longer wash through at least once a week though to shift any grease build up.
