Intelligence...does yours have it?

.................I know it's another animal thread !

I said to Minx today, showing her a ciggie, (no comments) after this we go out. Her head went down but as soon as I put the 'thing' out there she was waiting.

Often OH and I talk about them and say what we are doing and ping on the time there they are waiting.

Does your pet have intelligence ...not just the tone of voice to know you are upset, happy, angry. but seem to pick up on other things.?

My MIL used to look after our daughter when i went back to work . Rusty the dog ,who was a mongrel, would sit at the bedroom window and wait for me to come up the road with the pushchair ,he couldnt see me cos the house was at the bend of the road so i was coming from the left . He knew when we were near and would bark and by the time I got to the house Mum had been up from the kitchen and opened the front door.and he would be waiting in the hall tail wagging waiting for a big pat. He never sat waiting for us at the weekend, probably because the house routine was different then

I have a german shepherd who does all the competitions in Take a Break and completes the crossword in his Walkies and Efficiency magazine in under 10 minutes.

But he still sniffs places where he shouldn't, so I don't think he's that bright after all.

Bless Eldrick if he's sniffing where he shouldn't he's either following his owner or ignoring him. To be honest completing TAB competions in under 10mins is hardly a sign of intelligent, not in a GS anyway.

Yes, I would agree with you there. It would have to be under 30 seconds to be a sign of a moderate lack of total stupidity I suppose.....

Hi Uzi,you must make your own mind up about my 4 cats.

They have plenty of the best food for free, served up whenever they command it.

They are housed for free, and sleep in all the comfiest places,I even have to sleep at the bottom of the bed,it is so full of comfy cats.

They don't have to pay utility /vet,tax/housing bills.

Now who do you think is the cleverest, animals or humans?

Nina, who had another hefty vet bill today.

Take a Break?!! Mine does the Telegraph crossword...:-))

Not sure about mine at the moment - he's only a youngster and is at the stage of pushing his nose into people's nether regions. And he has a foot fetish - great if he's licking but not if he's nibbling!
