Oh, it's an excellent site. It's amazing what you can find out there! ANother good one is the Charity Commisisoners site.

It's good to know where your money is going :-)

Yes, it's a multi million pound business. Do a search on the big players on the Company House website. The cash flow is quite incredible.

No wonder they want more and more records released - they all compete against each other to provide that little extra to satisfy the lust for information. Then dress it up as a valuable public service. It's pure business, and good luck to them - as long as the intrusiveness doesn't affect me or mine, then any business that is doing well deserves a bit of acclaim.

Does anyone have an idea how much they make from us? Or anyone hazard a guess?

There's subscription sites, there's forums, certificates, there's family tree software, there's cds with parish records, etc on to name a few things that we pay out for.
