Rose is this the song ??
20-20 VISION Writer Geoffrey Morgan
My life was right in front of me but now she's gone Now it's easy to see I was the one who was wrong How could I be that close and yet so far of the track Well I've got 20-20 vision but only looking back Yes it's clear to me now but I should've seen it all along Why was I so blind to what I had at home When a woman's not satisfied it don't take her long to pack Well I've got 20-20 vision but only looking back Lord it hurts to see it all when there's nothing I can do Loving her now that it's too late makes me just a fool If I open my eyes in time the future would look so black I've got 20-20 vision but only looking back I've got 20-20 vision but only looking back

Every time we say goodbye I die a little Every time we say goodbye I wonder why a little Why the Gods above me Who must be in the know Think so little to me They allow you to go
When you're near there's such an air of Spring about it I can hear a lark somewhere begin to sing about it Theres no love song finer But how strange the change From major to minor Every time we say goodbye

Couldn't find the Ronnie Milsap I wanted but this is good too :)
"A Legend In My Time"
If heartaches brought fame in love's crazy game, I'd be a legend in my time. If they gave gold statuettes for tears and regrets, I'd be a legend in my time.
But they don't give awards, and there's no praise or fame For hearts that are broken for love that's in vain.
If loneliness meant world acclaim, Everyone would know my name I'd be a legend in my time.

There was a soldier, a Scottish soldier Who wandered far away, and soldiered far away There was non bolder, with good broad shoulder He's fought in many a fray, and fought and won. He's seen the glory, and told the story Of battles glorious, and deeds victorious But now he's sighing, his heart is crying To leave these green hills ofTyrol Because these green hills are not highland hills, Or the island hills, they're not my land's hills And fair as these green foreign hills may be They are not the hills of home
And now this soldier, this Scottish soldier Who wandered far away, and soldiered far away Sees leaves are falling, and death is calling And he will fade away, in that far land He's called his piper his trusty piper And bade him sound alay, A pi-broch sad to play Up on a hillside, but Scottish hillside Not on these green hills of Tyrol............ Chorus
And so this soldier, this Scottish soldier Will wander far no more, and soldier far no more And on a hillside, a Scottish hillside You'll see a piper play his soldier home He's seen the glory, he's told the story Of battles glorious and deeds victorious The bugles cease now, he is at peace now Far from those green hills of Tyrol...........

Say goodbye my own true lover As we sing a lovers song How it breaks my heart to leave you Now the carnival is gone
High above the dawn is waiting And my tears are falling rain For the carnival is over We may never meet again
Like a drum my heart was beating And your kiss was sweet as wine But the joys of love are fleeting For Pierrot and Columbine
Now the harbour light is calling This will be our last goodbye Though the carnival is over I will love you till I die
Like a drum my heart was beating And your kiss was sweet as wine But the joys of love are fleeting For Pierrot and Columbine
Now the harbour light is calling This will be our last goodbye Though the carnival is over I will love you till I die Though the carnival is over I will love you till I die

Now Delaney had a donkey that everyone admired, Tempo'rily lazy and permanently tired A leg at ev'ry corner balancing his head, And a tail to let you know which end he wanted to be fed Riley slyly said "We've underrated it, why not train it?" Then he took a rag They rubbed it, scrubbed it, They oiled and embrocated it, Got it to the post And when the starter dropped his flag There was Riley pushing it, shoving it, shushing it Hogan, Logan and ev'ryone in town lined up Attacking it and shoving it and smacking it They might as well have tried to push the Town Hall down The donkey was eyeing them, Openly defying them Winking, blinking and twisting out of place Riley reversing it, Ev'rybody cursing it The day Delaney's donkey ran the halfmile race
Etc etc

When are you gonna come down When are you going to land I should have stayed on the farm I should have listened to my old man You know you can't hold me forever I didn't sign up with you I'm not a present for your friends to open This boy's too young to be singing the blues
chorus So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods Hunting the horny back toad Oh I've finally decided my future lies Beyond the yellow brick road What do you think you'll do then I bet that'll shoot down your plane It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics To set you on your feet again Maybe you'll get a replacement There's plenty like me to be found Mongrels who ain't got a penny Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground

Goodnight ladies ladies goodnight It's time to say goodbye, let me tell you, now
Goodnight ladies ladies goodnight It's time to say goodbye
Now, all night long you've been drinking your tequilla But now you've sucked your lemon peel dry, so why not get high, high, high and Goodnight ladies ladies goodnight
Goodnight ladies ah, ladies goodnight It's time to say goodbye
Goodnight sweet ladies ah, ladies goodnight It's time to say goodbye, bye-bye
Ah, we've been together for the longest time But now it's time to get high come on, let's get high, high, high And goodnight ladies ladies goodnight
Oh, I'm still missing my other half oh, it must be something I did in the past Don't it just make you wanna laugh it's a lonely Saturday night
Oh, nobody calls me on the telephone I put another record on my stereo But I'm still singing a song of you it's a lonely Saturday night
Now, if I was an actor or a dancer who is glamorous then, you know, amorous life would soon be mine But now the tinsel light of star break is all that's left to applaud my heart break and eleven o'clock I watch the network news
Oh, woh, woh, something tells me that you're really gone you said we could be friends but that's not what I want Ah, anyway, my TV-dinner's almost done it's a lonely Saturday night I mean to tell you, it's a lonely Saturday night One more word, it's a lonely Saturday night

I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons Finally content with a past I regret I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness For once I'm at peace with myself I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long I'm movin' on
I've lived in this place and I know all the faces Each one is different, but they're always the same They mean me no harm, but it's time that I face it They'll never allow me to change But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong I'm movin' on
I'm moving on At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me And I know there's no guarentees, but I'm not alone There comes a time in everyone's life When all you can see are the years passing by And I have made up my mind that those days are gone
I've sold what I could and packed what I couldn't Stopped to fill up on my way out of town I've loved like I should, but lived like I shouldn't I had to lose everything to find out Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road I'm movin' on I'm movin' on I'm movin' on

"[Here is one version of Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore’s improvised outro]
Now is the time to say goodbye. (Goodbye) Now is the time to yield a sigh. (Yield it, yield it) Now is the time to wend our way-eee Until we meet again-eee Some sunny day.
Goodbye, goodbye, we’re leaving you, skiddlydye. Goodbye, we wish a fond goodbye, fa-ta-ta-ta-ta, fa-ta-ta-ta. Goodbye, goodbye, we’re leaving you, skiddlydum. Goodbye, we wish a fond goodbye, la-la-ta-ta-ta. La dah da, lah la la etc. [Repeat].
[Spoken] You know there comes a time in everyone’s life when they must say goodbye. That time is now, and so with tears in either eye we say goodbye, as people have said throughout the years. We leave this mortal coil on which we strut and fret our weary ways, as Shakespeare put it, God bless him. What a wonderful old chap Shakespeare was, bald but sexy.
Take that rhythm away with its wonderful melodies. Oh, goodbye they say.
Goodbye, goodbye, we’re leaving you goodbye, Goodbye, we wish you all …. a fond …goodbye"
