If you have bought your car insurance over the net from SAGA then check your policy.
When you completed your application if you had more than 4yrs no claims you will have ticked the 4+ box, so unless you have sent SAGA proof of your No Claims they will only give you 4 yrs + what ever years you are with them.

I have changed insurance company this year because SAGA have gone to expensive and I wasn't going to pay extra for travelling to my place of work, so my new company wanted proof of Bonus so SAGA have said 6y thats the 4+ yrs I went with plus 2y I have been for with them.

I had 7y when I went to SAGA but they didn't ask for proof so now my new company are charging me an extra premium.

I would certainly challenge that, you should surely have some proof from previous insurers?

We found they had become expensive, and would not let us add our elder son to the policy as he was 32, so we changed companies.

Saga will not update their records.
I have proof from my previous insurer but my new insurer can't add the years together - law will not allow them to do this.

It has to be SAGA, and they won't budge, got a jobs worth on their customer service. They state I am no longer a client even though my insurance only ran out on the 1st August this year.

I dont get this rude question any more. I deal with all our family finances and companies have learned to put my name first on joint bills and policies, or lose my custom. The bank always gets the same answer from my husband if asked to talk about finance ' you'd better ask the wife about that.' They ask him to do some juggling of accounts sometimes,

Cancelled my policy with them and went elsewhere and got my broom,broom insurance a lot cheaper.
