As this comes up so regularly there are a few things to consider...

Has the message been read yet?

Could this have been done while on a mobile phone or laptop whilst on holiday with no opportunity to reply ( or data to hand) ?

Could the person want to have time to check all that they know before replying?

might they be spending the last few weeks of the summer holidays with their children/ in the garden/ out for days while the sun shines?

Might they be ill, or depressed...or...heaven forfend have died?

yes it's common courtesy to reply... but maybe there are reasons.. 2 weeks isn't long to wait.... I take the view that generally speaking I have waited 50 odd years to know this or that about ancestors... another few weeks won't kill me :)

I would think it common courtesy to reply whenever someone gives you any information it annoys me when people cannot do this, i recently had a reguest for some information ,I opened my tree for them and gave all the information I had theat was 2 weeks ago and the person hasnt bothered to let me know whether or not it was any help or not .i am sure most do but others please note
