thank you Uzzi where am I heading deep into the tomes of time this is after all a place where we discover the past x what I'm getting at it until we look at the bigger picture we often make hasty judgments of which I myself am often found guilty and this time is not exception see I have always admired the Normans for bringing us such beautiful architecture are castles, cathedrals etc inasmuch as I admired the Romans for are roads, baths etc what I didn't look at in both these cases was the cost to us mere Saxons I am now looking at it from new eyes from a different perspective or as Mike Rutherford puts it "we may have a new perspective on a different day" those poor Saxons lost homes, land everything so we could have beautiful castles and cathedrals to look at the land they once owned for their sins they had to work hard on as slaves for the rest of their days ~ would we have not also shown violence in the protection of are families x |

I would say that it is only to the perpetrators that violence is seen as protection Mel. |
