Quirky habits

'Quirky' is that actually a word?

I have discovered a habit I have, which having realised it is annoying.

I have a teatowel that is towelling and I fold it on the table and rest my elbows on it. I also use it to mop sweaty brow etc.

I have found myself folding this towel exact in half and then in thirds. all corners must meet. I do occasionally fold it a different way but all corners meet.

Having twigged this I realise that I also fold the dog blankets in half and in 3rds. and when they scrunch them up, I will get up and re-fold them. I also fold sheets in half in half etc and then in 3rds, same with towels. If OH folds them differently I wait until he isn't looking and alter them.

When did this happen ? *shocked*
is it just me or do we all get quirky habits?

help I hadn't thought about that but yes I hang washing out all tea towels etc together ..I don't do towels as they are heavy and they go at the ends of the washing line., but I do hang all work shirts together (easier to collect in)

Ginnie I don't think we need help I think we are beyond it. ! lol

Joan I am glad we are not alone with the folding.

now dont laugh, but when i hang out my washing, it is all colour coded. all the whites in a line, then all pinks, blues and blacks.anything else at the end of line.

i also iron everything even socks and tights.my firends think im sad, but i hate creased clothes. i use the word quirky quite often to describe anything a bit unusual or off the beaten track.(sounds a bit like me lol)!!!!

Mines the ironing-cant just get it out the basket, one by one, i sort it out first,
tops-best-working-old ones, i iron them in that order and put them away
Next trousers/skirts/blouses- same way, straight into wardrobe.
Bedding etc i do last.

"They're coming to take me away ha ha, they're coming to take me away"..........................lol

Georgygirl you were meant to write it with convictions of feelings ....

I have to hang the washing out (we've got a 3-sided rotary line) from right to left. The large stuff at the back, undies etc in the front. Also I don't put 2 pegs of the same colour next to each other!! Dry towels have to be folded in a certain way. LOL, this the only thing I'm 'obsessive' about, honest!

ive just realised another quirky habit i have, but didnt think about it until now.
on every shelf or window sill, i have 2 of everything as i dont like odd things. so matching candles on mantlepiece, same at ends of telly. in window sil matching pictures with same coloured frames of my 2 children. either side of open fire black candle stick holders complete with matching candles. oh and in my bedroom on dressing table i have matching ceramic pigs on each end.
never really noticed how much symetry there is in this house, everything in 2s or 4s. strange as i live at no 4, born on the 4th and there are4 people living here.

what does this really say about me, maybe i am well balanced( a bit unbalanced maybe lol)
