Funny how what seems at first glance to be simple, is not. Right, buy a new cooker and have it installed. First, make sure the bedroom where the trip switches are is clear of furniture in front of the cupboard. Make sure that everything to the sides of the cooker is moved to a safe place. Move the kitchen table so that they can get at the old cooker and take it straight out. Then do a general tidy of the kitchen so as not to give a bad impression. Cook dinner so that the old cooker is cold by the time they come, plate up the meal for later heating in the microwave , Then sit and wait, and wait, and wait..........!

In the meantime find a card behind the front door that says "sorry you were out . please ring for another delivery date". check the bell or door knocker is still in working order and wonder when your ears had swiched off so you didnt hear them ring lol

You've got it Shirley! Delivery was at 12.30 so am on tenterhooks, shall we eat dinner or wait! This has been a big decision for me to change the cooker. Am going for ceramic hob which shows the rings are on, I have had some nasty burns from my black rings.

How much time is wasted for deliveries which are planned but do not arrive.
However when your new cooker is in and you are using it making wonderful tasty meals all this will fade from your memeory.
Hope it arrives soon

Well, arrived at 1pm, just as I was going to put the microwave on. Fair play, they were quick and clean and pleasant. They took away all packaging and the old cooker, plus the little mini oven that I wanted to do away with and gone by ten past 1. We were eating our dinner by 15 mins past. I got a better deal than Currys, too. Firm called The wash house.

Not heard of it, is it a local firm Jean? Good service though.
