Abbey Road Web Cam ? Oh My Goodness!

Has anyone watched this web cam.
Zebra Crossing in London, made famous by The Beatles on one of their album covers.
The Beatles where photographed walking across the crossing and this is being re-created, much to the horror and annoyance I expect of the motorist, not to mention the danger to the people who are actually walking across and taking photographs.
What do you think?
Google the above or use

Goodness! It must be awful for the car drivers!
Just watched it for a few minutes - people hanging around the crossing so motorists aren't sure if they want to cross or not.
Planks standing in the middle of the crossing, while their friends stand in the middle of the road to take the photo etc etc

The phrase 'Get a life' comes to mind!!

Hi Everyone
It is getting late now so not so many people around.
I was watching earlier when it was very busy, my heart was in my mouth more than once.
Must be a nightmare for drivers.
You really can't believe what is happening can you.

It's a bit addictive!
Just watched it for another few minutes.
One car forced to stop as an idiot was posing, managed to belch a load of black smoke out of his exhaust as he drove off!!!

Hi Maggie
You are right it is a bit addictive.
I saw one guy earlier actually lie down on the crossing - near miss or what!
I am surprised there are not more accidents with the cars. Some cars seem to take the crossing at speed, whilst others think about stopping and then don't. Last minute braking seems to be the norm.
It does make you stare open-mouthed sometimes.

PS Thanks for the nudge, I may have to apologise to people if this is too addictive.

there must be, and there isnt, there ought to be a law about unnecessary use of zebra crossings.disrupting free travel of traffic maybe.....

Bob ....................same as people that press the crossing button at traffic lights when there aint any traffic...........until AFTER they've crossed the road!!!!

No.1 and I were just talking about this the other night when there was something about Abbey Road on a Graham Norton rerun, I think it was -- I was saying how many people must make the crossing every day. Guess I was right. ;)

Webcam isn't working I guess, but check out this:

and see who's doing it with his wife and kiddies. You'd almost think he's human and not a vile bot ...

Okay, hint.

It's the revolting Stephen Harper, the revolting prime minister of Canada. The police escort stopped traffic for him.

Bob, there's a crossing near me that is traffic controlled.
What this means is, when there's a lot of traffic (even if it's at a standstill) traffic get's 'right of way'.
So, pedestrian presses button, and the lights don't turn until either so many vehicles have passed or a certain time has elapsed.
This means that if there's a jam and the traffic is at a standstill, we pedestrians can wait for 4 minutes (yes I've timed it) - by which time the traffic may have started moving - and the lights then stop them!

This 'pedestrian' crossing replaced a zebra crossing, because quite a few people had their feet run over (vehicles fault)!
People turned off the M3 and were still driving in motorway mode. So, rather than have a 30/20mph speed limit. the Highways Agency decided the pedestrians could wait - which of course, they don't!!!

Difference is, now the pedestrians are 'at fault' for not waiting for the lights, and crossing when the road is empty (until some plank comes shooting along a 60mph), whereas before, drivers were at fault for not stopping at a crossing!!
