In 1875 my OH gg.grandfather left Hampshire to go to Southwark in London after 1881 he found his way to Greenwich where he died in 1890. All these years later our g.dau has also left Hampshire to go and work in Greenwich and each day on her way to work she passes the ancestral home!!

Awe Chris, that is uncanny. What is the building used for now, and is it in it's original state.

Apparently it is still a home she thinks but had alterations. When I began researching some 20 yrs ago this ancester gave me trouble he kept on the move in the southern counties and then I lost him again, found him in Southwark and lost him again until 5 yrs agowhen he popped up in Greenwich! She is a history graduate so finds it interesting!

Hi Chris,I bet that similar things happen quite often.

I found a rellie fron the 19th century who owned the same farm that I used to take my kids camping on when they were young.

Also,my Dad used to take us camping to Youlgraeve, and I later found out that I was probably related to the village kids, who taught me how to tickle the trout that belonged to the Duke of Devonshire.

Ah,fond memories.
