Had nothing to do with Sky for over ten years now, and not likely to in the future.

A bunch of shisters and con men in my opinion.

Hi Amanda

a. Loads!

b. Yes, he did. And I must say he was extraordinarily helpful. Sky HD is now installed in the living room, the old Sky box in the bedroom has been replaced - and he managed to salvage all my Art of Spain recordings. Just in time for my visit to Madrid to see the Goya stuff. Roll on October. I'm so looking forward to seeing the Guernica first hand

I won't say "enjoy" but I guess you'll appreciate this

can't wait!

Still no Sky in the living room. In fact, no picture of any description. Unless you like watching snow blizzarding that is

So, off to the bedroom to watch NUFC this pm.

That'll be me and a box of Thornton's best (two layers, none the less), Reclining, like Caesar's wife, on the bed, I promised myself two chockies for each goal we scored.

Half time, and the top layer was gone. (well, nearly, but then you've got to have a couple for extra time, n'est pa?)

Second half and the box is empty.

Did I mention the score? Six nil to the Mags!

The bedroom is a wine (and ciggie) free room!

Shoes need a bit of sacrosanct space, after all!

LOL Sue ...if your watching your football in the horizontal position then at least you will be able to punch and kick the air at the same time ( if needs be ) without fear of doing yourself a mischief ....... just don't throw wine all over yourself if you get to carried away : ))

thanks Ice

No Amanda - not a bloody thing

Just as well I've got an alternative source in the bedroom. NUFC needs me on Sunday - even if I'm watching the Toon horizontally

Hello Sue ...... hearing these woes of yours makes me so glad that we don't have Sky ....... it was bad enough , going through a similar sounding rigmarole , when we changed Internet provider last year .

I hope you get it sorted out to your satisfaction soon .

Can you watch any TV at the moment or is it all fizzles and grain ?

I decided to

a. upgrade my sky package to include ESPN - all that footie stuff

b. buy an HD box - no point in having an HD tele othewise , after all

c. dispense with Sky Movies to save the cash I've just spent

Problems -

You can buy ESPN by pressing the "red button". East peasy

But - you can't remove anything from your package via same button

You need to ring

And there starts the problem. My call is - apparently - important to them. I know that cos I waited 15 minutes being fed this line until someone who was previously apparently "busy seeing to customers" was ready to see to this customer

Not to worry - ordering an HD box was relatively easy. "Installing it is easy, Mrs Parkinson". It arrived.

Unpacked, Instructions followed. To the letter. Sadly, bugger all but the "no signal" notice dancing around the screen.

Not to worry. I've got the number of the technical (not) help line.

Now, I know my call is important to them. I've been told so repeatedy....

Finally, on the line comes Mrs Helpline. Try unplugging your supply and wait a minute or so.

Done.

No change.

We now move into ultra-problem solving mode

Try unplugging your set and waiting a minute.

"Haven't we already tried that?"

"Looks like you've got a faulty box"

You don't say!

Appointment made with the Sky engineer. That'll be a day off work and a week to wait.

And I still haven't managed to cancel the film channel. I know my call is important to them cos . ...

In desperation
