Joining Police Force

My son wants to go into the police force....
But they are not recuiting, he has been on all different forces , so now he is in his 11th week of training for police specials..
He is hoping that if he does wll there, he might get the opportunity of joining..
He did go through all tests etc to joing ing army for the miltary Police.

Thank you all soooo much for your comments which are greatly appreciated. She is till going to join Gwent Police but has now decided to go to college and do a psychology course (please excuse the spelling)

I know of two lads who are in the force and they didnt go to uni.Lots of tests and training though.

I dont think there are any requirement regarding having a UNI degree. My father, grandfather and brother all served in police, know its different these days..........but my brother is still serving (North Wales Force) and he did not have one, although he did 6 years in RAF previuous. I think they like the more mature candidate from what my brother tells me, and a stint in the armed services goes down well re being disciplined etc. Plus they have a very strict training period where people will be weeded out along the way.

Good luck to your daughter, a very admiral proffesion I think with so many different fields you can apply for once you have your foot in the door!!

Anyone know if you have to fo to uni to get in the police force, my daughter starts her second year of 6th form and wants to join but she thinks that she will not make it into uni.
