Hello,
Clara, who married Benjamin Duff in 1874 seems to be missing from the 60 and 70 census. I was hoping to find her to get her parents names.
Can any one please help me.

They lived in Bristol and had kids there.
She died there in 1910 i think.

Thats very helpful, and completes another generation in my tree.
Don't know how you found it, but Ancestry isn't very helpfull. Either that, or I'm not useing it properly.
Think I need a teacher.

From Ancestry Steve, my friend gave me a tip, put the christian name and other details in and then work your way down the list that pops up for any variations on the name that could be mis-spellings etc then check the image to look at the way the handwriting is. The marriage was from Free BMD

I did try putting in the names and dates, but it only came up with one entry and a short list of appearances in obscure lists.

Free BMD id completely free, I use it all the time, careful though as with all records it's only as accurate as its transcribers and not all are on there, but more is being added all the time
