Have sent you a pm. You can read it if you click on the "messages" button in the dark green bar at the top. You should have a white envelope sign there. Everything you were looking for has been found.

Hi Paige,
My father wasn't registered until he was 16, when gran married and dad was adopted, then he was registered 4 times. Two of these are hand written at the bottom of the page, under his year of birth with reference to the later two registrations.
So, we have, in his year of birth, handwritten at the bottom of the page, one registration under his birth name, and one registration under his adoptive name.
in the year of his adoption, there are registrations (yet again) under both his birth and adoptive name - but in the main block of the page.
Try scrolling down to the bottom of the page with the surname you were known by, in 1973.

If you were born abroad, you may not have been registered in Britain at tthe time of birth, but later - this has happened to both my brothers.

Paige to send a PM ie Private Message you click on the persons name ,a box comes up that you type your mesage in and then you press the send box under the bottom of the message box.

This means that any sensitive info is kept off the board so wont be seen by anyone .

Was your mum married previously? Could your birth have been registered in 1965 under her first married name?

If you want to send a private message with your birth name and parent's names then I will have a look for you.

Hi Joy

Thank you for taking the time to reply ... not sure if my parents were fined leaving a gap of 8 years ... I was born 1965 and my birth registered 1973.

Confused

Hi Kath

Thank you so much for the reply I have just found out that my birth was not registered until 1973 ... I was born in 1965. Not contact with parents so unsure why this happened?

Best wishes

Paige

As Kath said, 6 weeks - after that, you were fined.

Hi

Does anyone know if there was a time limit to register a birth in the 1960's?

Thank you
